Firefox's spell checker has a very limited range. You have to be very close, and it doesn't have any contextual guessing capabilities. I don't think it would do much good. Further, IIRC, Eric uses a laptop and simply doesn't put much effort into correcting typos.

That seems to be what all the online DOF calculators say as well. 35mm seems to be about right for capturing a 6ft person from 12ft away as well.

50mm@f1.8 only gets a little over 1ft DOF, but 35mm@f2 manages 2.75'. That would be enough. Canon sells an EF 35mm f2 for a reasonable price (~$250). Thoughts? Hopefully the local shop doesn't have it in stock, so I'll be able to read your responses before I buy it ;)

Wow, doing some basic DOF calculations does not bode well. I understand that using a fast lens close to the subject causes a very low DOF, but even at 12' distance, 50mm@f1.4 gives a DOF <1ft! Backup plan: Hyperfocal distance? Nope....not until 300+ ft.

Almost. All I want is the circuit board that the drives plug in to. The circuit board out of the case that you linked is the part# that I referenced above. The rest of the enclosure will be a custom job, but a backplane will make all the wiring easier.

Will any f/1.2 lens be able to take better low-light pictures than any f/1.4 lens? Does focal length have anything to do with it? Considering aperture is measured based on focal length, I would need to assume that a 60mm f/2 would let in more light than a 50mm f/2. Is this why my lens is capable...

Well, my SSD arrived broken (packaging appeared fine, but SATA connector was fractured). When I shipped it back to newegg, they were out of stock. I got my money back. One impulse buy prevented ;) I won't be able to wait until next year, though. I'm sure I'll get another before then.

If it is in an NSK2400, I think the case fan is within a few mm of the cooler. I don't think one mounted to the cooler itself would help at all.

I've been just connecting the camera when I get home. It is programmed to automatically sync the pictures to a datestamped folder, so by the time I return from the kitchen it is well on it's way. By the time I finish cheking in here it's done. I'm just worried about the USB2 port on the camera...

If I were putting one of these in a case, I wouldn't put a fan on it at all. I really doubt it will be necessary for anything under 100W.

There is a bigger question here. Was this update "pushed" from the server? Or do all XP/Vista machines "phone home" from time to time, checking for updates anyway. Although they are both scary, I am really worried if a server on the internet can push files to my computer and have them installed...
