Intel Pro/1000 MT - Server vs Desktop?

http://www.beowulf.org/pipermail/beowulf/2003-July/007445.html the desktop version is a low-cost 32-bit (82540em) while the server (82545em) is its 64-bit brother. from the threads above, there's quite a gap to fill between those two.

[NEWS] - FreeBSD turned 10 years old yesterday.

    Gentoo Linux 1.4 rc4 released.

Ditto. I can never understand on how the Linux kernel should be configured correctly. Never had even once, a successful kernel compilation. Why can't it be as straight through as FreeBSD's or OpenBSD's? Why can't it highlight the necessary dependencies (in the config file for instance) instead...

    Iraqi crisis explained...

I must say that Muslims do not see this as a war to oust Saddam. Many Muslim friends, I myself is one, don't hold any love for him. In fact, I personally and many others I know would like to see him off. I've an intuition that this is a war against Islam. The facts aren't there but the feeling...

Hello all, As above. The target is a corporate network, 100+ nodes (2 depts). The building is located in a busy road intersection and a wired Coffee Bean just down below. Each node has been upgraded to Wi-Fi B, using 128-bit WEP. The data isn't mission critical but supposedly they want to...

Thank you guys for the referrals. Mercutio, thanks anyway for the offer but buying outside isn't an option for me at the moment. Most of the Sun resellers here do have used and refurbished products on sale, so I'd go to them. I have bought large products from the States, so no worries for me...

Definitely blake. I'm fairly convinced that a Sun certification would do me good during the next 2-3 years. Even if I don't really need it, it does give me an edge when proposing projects. I had a talk with a family friend last week during which he opined that a system administration...

FreeBSD 5.0 RC2 released, 5.0 final scheduled for January 17

As for 5.0, I'm eagerly waiting for it too but I wouldn't want to jump the gun that early. It seems that there are still many issues among others, OpenOffice, with 5.0 that it's worth sticking with 4.x-Stable tree until 5.x-Stable is issued after 5.1 or 5.2-Releases, for production box at least...

In plain English, the execution of the program is done in the background. Speaking of ports, I simply love them. Genius creation. The most appreciated feature of ports is that, the makefile will pull in every package that is a dependency of the to be installed port. Re-learning web stuff

AFAIK, XHTML is an extension to the HTML 4.0 and it's primarily created with the usage of XML + XSLT. Since XML doesn't describe the layout/interface of a document, XSLT is used to do that. The output of those two produces XHTML documents.
