Why are thery no 600Gb drives? The gaop bewtwwn 500 and 750 is too mauch and no copetetive choices. Por example is older days we had from 30Gb the progressin:

30, 40, 45, 60, 80, 100, 120, 160, 200, 250, 300 (320), 400, 500, now gap to 750Gb. In each case the difence was no moare than 1/3 lerger, but 750gb is 50% largher. So, will anyone kever make a 600gb Drive? 3x200gb platter shoudl be easy enough.

Actually 3x200GB is not a bad idea. I wonder why nobody has done that, except perhaps that it does not fit into the market slots. Several manufacturers will probably have 3x250GB drives later this year, so it may be a moot point.

Actually, gaps are usually bigger than that. At any given time, a single manufacturer would only have about half that many models. For example, a few years ago the Samsung range was:

20, 30, 40, 60, 80, 120

A bit later it was:

40, 80, 120, 160

And a bit later again:

80, 120, 160, 200, 250

Then:

80, 160, 200, 250, 300

And right now it's:

80, 160, 250, 300, 400, 500

If I had to guess at the next line-up, it might be something like:

120, 300, 400, 600, 800

I no longer have access to 300GB drives, only 320GB models. You can't get the 750GB? What third-world country are you living in? ;-)

Ok, I admit that even though I could sell a 750GB, there's no market for it right now and the price is prohibitive (I would be selling them at ~425$CAN, versus ~180$CAN for a Western Digital 500GB - WD are surprisingly reliable around here).
