Alternatives to Obnoxious Software

Quicktime alternative.

Because RealPlayer and Quicktime are both crimes against nature.

I've only been able to make them work under IE, not Firebird. The plugins don't seem to be mature for gecko-based browsers.

Still, they are better than the originals.

Nope. These tools are just so handy and QT and RP so in need of being called "Crimes Against Nature" that I didn't think anyone would mind.

yeah, never had a problem with quicktime personally....e xcept for the 1 version that stayed in the tray... but simply upgrade and you can get rid of the tray icon in the properties.
