Wow. It was obvious that the shares of AMD were a tad high lately, so traders would just wait for a little bad news to make it drop, but 22% in one day is silly. Damn, the company is still profitable. Just less than before.

Very happy I am not to own any of their shares.

I was wondering what might happen when I read news that they warned profits may be down. 22% seems like a lot, hopefully it'll bounce back.

AMD's shares are now worth almost twice of those of Intel (38.38$ vs 21.22$). 2005 and early 2006 has been an outstanding period for AMD. I don't think business has been that good for them in their entire history. Their total market value is now about 1/8 of Intel's. It was 1/15 maybe a month ago.

That's what I'm thinking too. Whatever happens to their shares' value, the divident are substantial so you really can't lose money on the long term.
