Article at SR about TCQ vs SCSI vs non-TCQ SATA.

I have found the article quite interesting. Some of the results were surprising (at least to me) and thus have lit me on the advantages and differences of new TCQ-capable and current/old TCQ-deprived SATA controllers and drives.

Here's the conclusion for the impatient readers.

So for my own single user systems, I would still be buying a Raptor over the upcoming Barracuda SATA drives featuring NCQ.

From what I've heard, the ICH6 will support NCQ, but not TCQ.

Pacific Digital makes cards that do a nice job supporting the TCQ feature on the WD740GD. PDF

By the way, not all Promise cards use Promise chips, some use Marvell ICs.
