ASUS A7V8X-X

Has anyone sampled this board yet? It has shown up on my price list for less then the original nForce Asus A7N266-VM/AA. Granted the KT400 board doesn't have onboard video, but I probably wouldn't use the onboard video with the A7N266-VM/AA.

Just hooked up my first A7V8X-X (been using the A7V8X and A7V8X-GBlan). The only changes of note are the chipset is now KT400a (up from the standard KT400) and you loose the additional jumper cable for USB ports 5&6 :-?

Other than that, it is a straight forward and easy motherboard to use.

Couple of other changes I have now noticed:

- you lose one serial port in exchange for a s/PDIF out jack.
- sound chip has changed (don't know if it is better or worse)

Dual-phase VRM. Not very interested.

I had a choice between this one and the Shuttle 38N two weeks ago. Chose the Shuttle and I don't regret it. The Asus has more features, but doesn't seem as reliable IMO. I would get the Shuttle 39N (KT400 instead of the KT333CF of the 38N) over the A7V8X-X.
