As much as I dislike Apple, at least they are being proactive about replacing the defective drives...

Pity they don't give reason for the issue? Could be a bad batch, or improper shipping between Seagate and Apple?

Personally, given the tremendous number of failed 1 - 2TB Seagate drives I've seen, I think it might be a wider issue with the product line and Apple might've just gotten to a tipping point with support issues.

All we can do at this point is pray to whatever it is we worship that Seagate completely re-tools its product lines in Samsung's image.

Now that would be surprising since it's Western Digital that bought Hibachi's storage divison.
