Anyone notice the Atlas 10K V in the SR database? I think the next-gen 15K drives will be very interesting. :)

Personally I'm looking for a replacement for my Raptor. Capacity is irrelevant (over 6GB); but speed, silenece and low-heat are my biggest factors.

impressive results for the Atlas 10K V. I can't wait to see what the next Atlas 15K drive will do.

My fastest drive currently is a Western Digital WD200JB, since I sold my 2001-vintage SCSI units. Of course I'd like to get something faster again, but honestly, I don't think I'll see a significant-enough improvement to justify the expense. My computer is sufficiently fast for my needs.

I'll pass, even if I'm tempted.

Anyone has seen the few results for the 2.5" Seagate Savvio 10K.1? Not that bad for such a small drive, isn't it?

Yeah, 2.5" will be the future, probably for S-ATA as well. It will be nice to have a compact SAS RAID setup. :)
