The clever ads were only the first barrage. MAC ATTACK!

There may be something "different" with the Intel drivers and that's why it doesn't happen with other RAID cards. But still, the OS should never allow this to happen.

Looks like I can buy OEM stickers for Vista for about $12 less than I can get XP. I wonder if that's because of demand for XP licenses or because Microsoft is cutting prices on Vista?

I can't get cheap OEM Vista stickers. Right now I'm selling WinXP Pro licenses because the price of XP Home increased above it.

I notice that the couple of place I normally buy software are listing Vista Home Premium at the price point where they used to offer XP Home. They aren't offering Vista Home Basic at all, which is too bad; I'd rather give the less expensive option. I don't think Premium adds anything to the Vista experience.

Somewhere in time.
Which place is that, Merc? I'm looking to buy the 64-bit Home Premium. Directron has the OEM version DVD for $105.

Local disti. Sometimes I see lower prices from various shady internet dealers and sometimes I will actually buy from them, but Windows licenses are one of the few things that are consistently cheaper locally than on Newegg...

And I still don't think Vista Premium adds anything to the Vista experience. I'd go with Basic for the low cost or Ultimate if I needed to virtualize Vista. I don't know what the hell anyone gets out of Premium.
