A post on Slashdot today points to an article from HP regarding their Memristor technology. They are hoping to have a product that will compete with Flash memory in the next year and a half. Beyond that they're goals are to eventually have a working alternative to DRAM that will be non-volatile. If this works out, that will be an interesting change for power-saving features like sleep and suspend in a computer. It could simple go in and out of suspend very quickly to conserve power. Anyway, it's a while out into the future and who knows if it'll even worked as claimed.
