Most of the stuff I listen to is from those decades too and I'm older than both of you.
While I agree that Bowie was an influencial artist of the past century, I disagree that he was the most influential. The two most influential were probably Elvis and the Beatles. I don't like both of them, but the former shattered the old standards while the latter group was an early years favorite (mainly Sgt. Pepper's) of most known rock bands' members from the following two decades.

One of the things I love about Marian Hill is that it rewards repeat listening and stands up to intense scrutiny. The best sound system you have at the highest volume settings and it just sounds cleaner. This is not common in this genre.

I picked up a few concert / live performance Blu-rays. Within Temptation & Metropole Orchestra - Black Symphony and Jeff Beck - Live at Ronnie Scott's. Both have 24/96 audio tracks that are very well done mixes. Blanket ft. Imogen Heap on the Jeff Beck Blu-ray is incredible.
I've got a few other concert Blu-ray discs inbound as well. Hopefully they're as good.

Expanding dynamic range isn't that hard to do. Although once it's been mangled to the extent Electronic Opus is it's hard to undo and get a natural sounding result. Removing/undoing heavy clipping is quite hard. I have the Blu-ray audio version on the way to me. Per internet reports it has much better dynamic range on the 5.1 mix. I can mix that down to stereo and that will operation probably gain a bit more more dynamic range. That should beat wasting hours trying to put lipstick on the pig of the CD version.

I don't steam music. I prefer to broil it.
I subscribe to Spotify as a primary source of general music streaming. I enjoy the variety of the music and also the system they have which offers new music suggestions. I also use SoundCloud for more indie music from some artists I follow. I rarely use Pandora these days because the price isn't worth it to me nor is the amount of time spent listening to commercials along with lack of customizable content.

I have an iPod loaded with music in my Audi that I listen to. I've been listening to the radio in my Chevy since it lacks any sort of advanced connectivity. I suppose I could put my nice Alpine headunit with time alignment back in the car though which would give me an Auxiliary input as well as MP3 CD playback capability. I'll have to find it though.

I have Pandora, Amazon Music, and Soundcloud for streaming. Audible for books on tape, and DoggCatcher for podcasts.
Amazon is the one I use most, and have a nice collection of songs there. When I want to find something new I use Pandora. Some of the niche stuff is only on SoundCloud.
