I want to get a new case to replace my P180. I can't find anything I really like right now. Any idea where I might look to see what cool cases will be coming out in the future or near future?
There will also be a top-of-the-line 1250W model that will have no fewer than six +12V rails—three rated for 28A of power output, and another three rated for 20W—for a total 1.125kW of +12V power.
I'm sure I (or you) could dream up a system that would require it. Neither of us is likely to build such a system, and 99% of the units sold will not go into such systems, but that is besides the point.
That does sound (on paper) like a nice PSU. I'd be curious to see how efficient it is with a "normal" computer compared to say a 500W model from comparable companies.
Power supplies are a lot less efficient at 10% or 20% load than they are between 30% and 80%. The 1200W toy would be a waste for an average computer and certainly a lot less efficient for anything else than the most powerful gaming rig. Even an AMD FX-74 with HD2900XT in Crossfire wouldn't need this.
