$1100 for 256GB. That's not too bad, but won't there be single SATA 6.0 SSD drives >500GB/sec. in less than 6 months?

Yeah sure LM, Ferrari are 'only' ~$200k, Leica X1 'only' $2k, 1Ds 32mp Mk4/5 'only' $8k or D3x :p.

I take it you did a Google Search and discarded the result with only 2 recommendations :p ?

>500MB/sec, not GB/sec...it's a 6Gb/s standard :D, that's theoretical max. not sure if we'll have single SSD (non-internal raid) drives that hit that theoretical limit in 6mo...maybe.

But we will have SATA 6.0 and USB3.0 I/O ports on MB b4 then (already announced SSD external drives w/USB3.0< same 600MB/sec theoretical max):

hothardware didn't give such a glowing review to the 250GB version, maybe the 1TB, @ 'only' :) $4k, is faster (they also mention the 250GB @$899???, which is still too much IMO...though close in price to vertex turbo)? Next revision might improve, kinda like Canon needs to release better f/w for the 5DmkII, didn't get it right on release :p
