Just so. I came to the same realisation a while back. Now, whenever I need to scan something (about twice a year, maybe, typically a document I have to sign and email or post) I just take a photograph and send that instead. Easy.

I have an app for my phone called "CamScanner" that automatically deskews, crops, and saves as PDF. Very professional looking output considering how easy it is to use.

There was a time long ago when irfanview was highly recommended. i downloaded it once, but could not "catch" it. faststone is truly intuitive. easy. wanna batch process, resize a number of files before uploading to the web? you can use this.

Somewhere in time.
I aks because a long time ago (8-10 years) Faststone had a bad name; spyware or some such thing. I don't remember the details now.
