OK. Mr. Wishy-Washy finally pulled the trigger and got the HP ZR24w from CostCentral.com Pretty damn good deal.

Total was $405.36 incl shipping (no tax). Ordered on Sunday afternoon. Got the Fedex tracking info on Tuesday with a Friday delivery date. Monitor came a day early on Thursday. Setup was painless and a quick check shows no dead or stuck pixels or sub-pixels. A huge relief.

The HP seems to be a pretty decent monitor considering it's low cost, well, low for an IPS monitor.

Thanks again for all the feedback.

Does that monitor have a shiny/reflective screen or more of a matte finish? I prefer matte and would like to get something in the next 6 months...

Matte finish. And it's bright. I have the brightness set at 10 (1-100 scale) right now.

What is the setting for 120 nits, or is it that at the 10% setting?
