By the end of Q4, 3TB drives and maybe even 4TB drives will be available, so the chances that 2TB will go down to 100$ are pretty good.

Seagate 2TB 5900 RPM drive is $110 now, but that drive has an awful reputation.

That's because as they get cheaper and cheaper more and more inept people buy them. Inept people are clueless and write brilliant reviews commenting on things like SMART parameters they don't understand.

The SMART data can be confusing since the manufacturers are not consistent. I trust a full scan and 100% write then read write cycle more. :cyclop:

I have five of the Samsungs now. :) One of them had data on it, but was hidden by a printout and never installed. :bsmurf: I need to find a usage for it.
