Shingles

In case you didn't know, there is a Shingles vaccine available. Check with your doctor.

It's a *live* vaccine with a 50% success rate (although symptoms are reduced for some who still develop it), so I don't know if people who haven't already experienced the horror of shingles will sign up for it (and locally, it's estimated to cost $250 per shot).

I know older people who have been sufferers and it's something I'm very much dreading.

You have to be 50 or older to get the vaccine as well.

I'd rather have some chance of not getting it, even 50%.

Is this different than the chicken pox vaccine?

The two illnesses are caused by same virus.
