Nice Tea! If you want to keep one of Tannin's toes, you could always sell me one of the 20Ds cheap
So fas as I can discover, Doug, the little tart spent six thousand three hundred and fifty of my dollars. That's a few hundred below standard retail, but if there is one thing I am quite certain of, it is that it wouldn't have mattered if it was well above retail, she would have spent it anyway. Lord only knows what else she ordered while my back was turned. Every time a new car pulls up outside the shop I have to hope like crazy it isn't for me!
I'm a Canon user... The new Nikons look very nice from their spec sheets. Hopefully Canon will use the 5d MkII to take a shot at the Nikon D3.Now that you have the king of Canons, what is your opinion on Nikon's new releases? It's always nice to get opinions from Canon users, as they provide a different perspective than those of Nikon fanboys.
No idea on a date. I wouldn't expect Canon to make the 5D/II compete tit for tat with the D3 as they're targeting different markets at different price points, but I would expect Canon to make the 5D/II a very compelling lower cost Full Frame alternative to the D3. Something like 80% of the performance for 1/2 the cost. Basically, I'd expect the 5D/II to be the same resolution as the 5D with ~6FPS with improved noise and ISO performance, improved metering, and an improved AF system. The 1Ds/III is chasing a completely different market than Nikon's D3, and the 1D/III is not a FF camera. That basically leaves nothing to even come close to matching up with the D3 unless Canon brings the goods with the 5D/II.When is the 5D/II slated to be released? The D3 will be a hard act to follow for the 5D/II, as I don't know if Canon wants to cannibalize sales of the 1D/III by making the 5D/II too good.
