I'm waiting for the UPS all day today. The boxes were on the truck over 14 hours ago. :cursin:

PCIe card fell in the toilet as I had the Dust Off in the other hand. :( What would you do?

Rinse with distilled water. Air dry. Most likely will be fine. Hell, my Motorola RAZR survived immersion in a (clean) toilet while powered (immediately removed battery and just let it air dry overnight).

That would be fun.

In addition to downloading and buffering we now have to deal with printing...

Put up the Christmas tree today, the kids had fun with the decorations.

Started on toilet training the oldest one (2yr 10mths) this week - so far so good. (he's only a few accidents so far).

And the youngest (11mths) is now proficient at walking around holding on to things to get around, so expect her to be walking unaided by her first birthday.

@Merc getting ready for Kwanzaa yet?

Where do you buy cards? I'm not thrilled with what I see in stores. :colors:

Never before have I had such a hard time finding the price of an item.

Behr Ultra "Ultra Pure White" Satin finish, 5Gal bucket

All I can find is home depot online selling it by the 8oz sampler. That would be expensive and time consuming.

NOTE: Some stores may not carry all of our products. We suggest you copy the telephone number and call the store to make sure they carry the product(s) you wish to purchase

Why? God forbid you might obtain some useful information from anyone? :cat:

So the DNS capability of the D-link stopped working again tonight. I took it out of use while I was out of town and put it back in today. Same symptoms as last time. I was unable to resolve anything, but could ping both DNS servers listed in the router's WAN settings. It started working again after I used the ping utility in the router to ping a website (the ping worked).

This is beginning to piss me off.

Is the individual unit defective or is there a general issue with that model/firmware in your setup? :rnd:

I don't know. There seem to be a lot of DNS related complaints on it pertaining to a feature mine doesn't seem to have (DNS Relay).

I've definitely heard noises before. Never tracked down what was making the noise though.

On close inspection I believe it is the power supply inverter switching frequency. The input is only one cell, so ~1.2-1.5V.

Normally I buy used/out-of-print books through Barnes & Noble but they add $3.99 shipping/handling to the price of each book, even if you buy 5 books from the same reseller. So the $1.99-2.99 price for a 10-20 year old mass-market paperback book becomes $6-7 each. So I decide to cut out the middleman and go directly to the resellers site and buy direct, hoping to save on shipping charges. And hot damn, they have free shipping on orders over $10. So I can get 20 old books for $45-50 instead of $120-130.

So I go to http://www.kjcactus.com/ enter my book selections then go to checkout...and the store doesn't take VISA/MC!!!

:cursin: WTF :cursin: The bottom of the page says, "We gladly accept ... {and a pic of} VISA/SC/AE/Discover Card logos"

You have to go through Google Checkout to use credit cards.

Maybe I'm paranoid but I don't want to give Google my real name/address/CC card info/etc and have it tied to my email address/IP address. They have enough of my personal info already.

What a pain in the ass. Guess it's back to B&N.

That is a heck of a price to pay to try to keep information away from a company that is a world leader in gathering information. Personally, I'd rather trust Google with my credit card info than random-dude-on-the-net.

I don't want Google to know the real name/info on a person that (just for the F of it) searched for gay-beastality-porn, or some other crazy shit just to see what comes up.

Of course Google has probably already bought every single personal info database in existence anyways so I guess "the man" can come down on me whenever he wants to.

I'm more annoyed with the site saying they accept CCs, but they don't.

I don't trust Google either, but I'm more worried about their competence rather than any deliberate misuse. The left hand and right hand can no longer see each other.

Anyone else has at least one supplier with H67-based motherboards in stock, or is it just me? I can get at least four different GigaByte motherboards with the new LGA1155. The most interesting one is the GA-H67-UD2H. It's the cheapest one with at least four DIMM sockets. ~130$.
