Diet soda is still very acidic.

Last time I was at the dentist was September 11th, 2001, but I brush four or five times and floss at least once a day.

The child of a friend of mine was allowed to have OJ without brushing before bed. Good thing he has another set coming in.

So how is it all connected? How do they know?

One of the 'tools' that they encourage you to use is to give them the username and password of your e-mail account. They will then go in and extract your contact information, automatically adding anyone who is already a member as a friend. A side effect is the e-mail that I got.

It is amazing how much some of us fight government intrusions into our lives, while so much of the population is happily giving away every ounce of privacy to feel a little more popular.

Facebook is evil.

So true. I've received many invitations over the years, and now anything from FB is automatically marked as spam. If I want someone to be able to contact me, they already know how to.

Despite the many flaws been found with their system**, people still sign-up in droves.

** My favourite flaw was, you could view *any* image within ther system, just by modifying the imageid field in the URL. You didn't even need to be logged into facebook, for this to work! (Note: this has been fixed, but does show the lack of thought into the implementation).

Somewhere in time.
Last time I was at the dentist they warned me to stay away from the hard bristled brushes. Said they don't clean any better but wear the teeth down. I hadn't really thought of that before.
One dentist I went to said hard bristles should be outlawed by the FDA. He said to only buy the soft-bristled ones. But using those, after 3 days, it feels like you never brushed; the clean feeling just isn't there.

I know what you mean there but I think we have lulled ourselves into thinking that hard bristled clean feeling is good when it really isn't.

I went to see Panasonic's 3D TV display and to enter the drawing.

They could have mentioned where in the king of prussia mall they were at. It is huge and took us a while to find it.
3D TV was cool but you needed the glasses. 3D gaming (car racing) was cooler. But still not immersive.
Here's hoping I win.

As soon as a good 3D driving simulator comes out, I'll be getting an ~50" 3D screen.

Oh man, you must be a glutton for punishment. :) That is last thing I would want to do after driving home in traffic amidst all the real-world maniacs.

While driving in the real world, there are many things I want to do (pass on the right, overtake on blind corners, cut people off, etc). I have some semblance of decency, so I don't. It is nice to get it out of my system after I get home.

Besides, for the last 18 months and the next 3, I walk to work ;)

LOL, just wait until they have a Wii 'Pornstar' *interactive* simulation, on a 3D 4k res screen.

Think of all the hospital emergency room 'explanations' ... 'well doc, ya see I fell while using the Wii golf simulation' 'I got a little carried away on that Rockstar/Guitar player game', lol.

Try out one of the Grand Theft Autos, the later ones I had fun simply creating mayham on the highways exactly like this.

The socket in my notebook can be removed and replaced fairly easily, but it is not like that one.

Are you sure those will work? It doesn't specify the spacing of the screw holes. I compared several PCI cards that I had lying around and they all had different spacings.
I have a goofy upside down Lian-Li ATX case, so I hung the fan from top with zip ties and adhesive cable tie mounts.

Just a followup on the back bracket that I linked to fits perfect on the Perc 6i. The only tricky part was using a 5/16th drill bit to widening the hole on the bracket a little bit to fit the screw that came with the raid card.

My case has a side mount for a 120mm fan that sits right above the card so I'm trying that to see if it cools it enough.

The cards came in working order (so far as I can tell) and the BBUs work fine. I don't have the SFF 8484 cables yet to try the drives, but I'm able to get into the BIOS on both cards just fine.

Why are Newegg prices for memory cards so high? It is crazy.

Evil bastards! I have no societal networkers, fortunately.

That is a fantastic read. I love rally racing.

My favorite dream car when growing up was the Celica GT-Four:

I curse myself that I was too young to drive at that time, and therefore could not own such a car.

At 4:30PM yesterday, tech support from a vendor told me it was OK to delete a log file. I've now been on the phone with his superior for 7 hours trying to put it back. Blah.

Just got off the phone with his superior. The CTO will be calling me tomorrow morning so we can go through a manual repair of their database. Yay.

You're in the wars lately. Hope they can fix it for you.

Out of curiosity, what DBMS (database server) are they using?

Heh, my favorite dream car growing up was the Ford GT40. I still have dreams of building an electric replica.

How are the hard drives distributed? Are they shipped directly from the Asian manufacturer to the Neweggs? It is interesting that Newegg is shipping drives that are less than a week old.

7 days from Malaysia to the US, you have to think that's air freight. Must be solid demand for them.
