It's mid-May and there still haven't been a major hurricane in the Atlantic! Have evil Texan rednecks stoppped driving polluting SUVs or what? When will I finally be granted the pleasure to see Floridians fly and crash on concrete walls? Global warming anyone? Where are those doom-day hurricanes this year? It was pretty entertaining to follow on TV last year. I miss it.

Seems like south-east Asia has kept them all for itself thus far.

The wife was so excited last week.

She was going to Boracay for a 3-day teaching seminar. She got there by boat/ship just before they closed shipping lanes due to typhoon "caloy". She was witness to whipping coconut trees and screaming waves for 3 days, instead of the clear waters and white beaches Boracay is famous for.

They allowed ships to travel again right after the seminar finished. Well, at least, she's home safe and sound.

Karl Rove has been so busy listening in on Americans phone calls to their grandmothers that he hasn't had a chance to fire up the weather machine yet. Once Hayden gets approved to the CIA, Karl will be back to his hurricane making ways!

If I thought it would help, I would do my part to inject more pollutants into the atmosphere. I tried it before, though, and it frosted anyway. Seems little old me can't do much about it. I'm tired of being cold when it's supposed to be practicly summer. *sigh*

I'm rather enjoying only needing to run one air conditioner at the moment, actually. It can stay 65 degrees all year round.

I've GOT to move. Don't give a shit that I've got a degree in law from the Kalifornia bar Association. NorCal is still the freezing place I left, and, nothings changed, except my mom is senile in a rest home, and, I'm freezing or frying in Walnut Creek. Hawaii, Puerto Rico, don't know the answer. IDEAS???

Need to be WARM...

Singapore is 28 deg Celsius the whole year round, it always rains in the afternoon, sometimes a bit, sometimes a little more. Very few typhoons, though. Very clean city, very strict, good IT infrastructure.

We are a bit more exciting, lotsa typhoons, we get a bit cooler and a lot warmer, a lot dirtier, lotsa goons, lotsa bad politics,

IT infrastructure is good in the urban areas.

Does Singapore have hot chicks in tiny little thong bikinis? 'Cause I'll bet it has better weather than Chicago, and we probably have the same goons and politics. :)

I could be wrong but...

I don't think so. The government is a bit strict morality wise so I suppose Bangkok/Manila style discos with girls prancing up and down in ultra-skimpy attire would be frowned upon. Still, there's night-life.

That place was where I first saw two good-looking china dolls in very mini-skirts on a really big bike. They were at an intersection, waiting for the light to change.

Really surprised me. One would never see that in Manila.

Just about anywhere that you can regularly get a hurricane/tropical cyclone/typhoon is where you want to be.
