Virtual Machine? Virtual PC?

This is an area I've never ventured into.
What are the steps in setting up a virtual machine on my XP box in order to do a test install of some software (in this case slipstreamed XP and Office 2007)

Really, really easy.

I reccomend VMWare's products over the others; easier to use, faster VM, just better.

Download VMWare Server (free) and set one up, it's really straightforward. If you have any questions, post them here.

Current version of Virtual PC are... not all that good compared to VMware. I've had VPC crap out on things as basic as a console-only (no graphics) RedHat 6 install. VMware actually seems faster for Windows images too.
I have no idea who uses Virtual PC or for what, but it's only impressive until you've tried the other product.

VirtualPC integrates well with Windows XP. That's about it.

I'm also in the VMware camp. I'm trying to upgrade my processors so that I can run 64-bit guests....
