Does anybody have some of these? The low power, heat and noise are appealing. How effective is the variable RPM function; i.e., is there a lag that affects performance? Thanks.

Wow, what an advertising crock! Apparently 5400-7200 is a descriptor for the type of drive, not the true RPM.

Its performance is pretty solid compared to lots of other drives regardless of the RPM it spins at.
