    Merry Christmas 2019 and Happy New Year 2020

    This. 100%. Sorry it's true. First we have to stop giving away free, government insured loans to 18 yo kids who want to go to Harvard to get a "crap" degree. I wish I could loan some dipshit $300k, be guaranteed I'd never lose my principle, charge crazy fees, and never allow loans to be...

    Merry Christmas 2019 and Happy New Year 2020

    I'm stuffed with food. I took home two times the amount of food in leftovers that I brought to our pot-luck brunch. We did a gift exchange. I hope everybody enjoyed or will enjoy their holiday season. {see previous post for comprehensive list}

    Not obtaining audio CD metadata (.MP3 Tags) from freedb.org

    ^^^ Thanks for the tip. I did notice MusicBrainz when I did my initial googling, but didn't see or notice a MusicBrainz server I could drop into FreeRIP to replace the freedb server. But you are probably right, I just need to get a different ripper that has explicit already included support...

    ^^^ Nice upgrades Sed. But I must say, if your keyboard wasn't manufactured in the early 1980's with buckling spring switches, it's not a real keyboard. My "modern" Unicomp comes kinda close with it's buckling springs, but it's not quite perfect. ;)

    Merry Christmas 2019 and Happy New Year 2020. I'm taking mom over to my Niece's house for an early, 10-11 A.M. Christmas Brunch. What, if anything, is everybody else doing? Again, Merry Christmas 2019 and Happy New Year 2020.

    Not obtaining audio CD metadata (.MP3 Tags) from freedb.org

    First of all: 1) I'm no audiophile; 2) my DAP and headphones don't warrant any "quality" EAC ripping; and 3) I'm lazy and just need a basic CD-to-.MP3 rip. So I'm just using FreeRIP with everything default. I came across a CD that FreeRIP doesn't automagically obtain the track names/metadata...

    If you need to buy non-perishables you might as well buy in bulk and save. Definitely google for "what to buy," and "what not to buy" at Costco as some of their bulk items aren't actually cheaper than your local store. Plus their food stand is awesome and cheap. Super cheap and super quality...

    The last time I had fraudulent charges on my debit (not credit) card was when I purchased a 600 MHz slot-1 Pentium 3 processor several decades ago. Because it was a debit card I had to go into the bank and fill out and sign a bunch of paperwork. It was about $200 spread across 6 different...

    Search function is garbage.

    It probably nothing, but the Sony WM-Port on the A55 vs a standard USB was a bit concerning. I was interested in the A55 but not enough to buy it from an Asian seller. Now the next gen A100 is coming out soon, but only in Asia and Europe. Sony has written off the NA market. :(

    The Nikkor e-series lenses are sharper than the older g-series ones. I'd only want a 28mm because it would be "evenly spaced" between a 19-20mm lens and a 50mm lens. If you shot 24p video 2 years ago and wanted to add/edit, more/different, video to that file and could not shoot at 24p that...

    The less post-processing work I can do the better. I sux at it. So I'd rather shoot a 12mm image and worry about perspective issues than shoot multiple 50mm images and stitch them together. I should have added the qualifier "FX, full frame lens" when mentioning widest lens as Nikon does make...

    I made the mistake of buying the: 16-35/4, 105/2.8, 50/1.4; the last two I very rarely use. I should have just bought a 14-24/2.8 instead. So yes I'm interested in an updated ultra-wide lens. Would have preferred a 12-24/2.8 lens but I'd be happy with a 12mm prime. The widest, non-fisheye...

    Same for me. Inertia. I was paying nearly $300/month for cable/phone/internet with no thought. Then Cox told everybody their legacy phones would stop working in six months and I'd have to get a new router with a "POTS" (or whatever it's called) port on it. Then a few months after that they...

    If "VR" is vibration reduction maybe "SR" refers to "sound reduction?" Silent focus during video shooting? Nikon never updated their 300/2.8 or 200/2 to "E" versions so perhaps the 120-300/2.8 is the update instead of those two new primes.
