    Coronavirus

US CDC numbers: https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/index.html Most years indicate 2-3% fatality rate (recent years are up) for those that seek medical assistance. Of all infections, it's estimated at ~0.1%. (Which is what I initially expected, the Australian numbers for 2017 really surprised...

    Coronavirus

My wife and I have been following it, since due to her complex medical conditions, can pick up cold/flu's easily and working out a plan on how best to avoid high risk groups without affecting our lives too much. As to how deadly it is, I'm no expert, but 80+ confirmed deaths and just over 2700+...

    Lenovo P43s throttling like crazy

Sounds like a crap thermal design for the laptop... Unfortunately, Intel define Base Clock and TDP as: Which means as long, as all fours cores at 100% CPU utilisation at Base Clock (1.8GHz for this CPU) emit no more than 15W, AND the CPU doesn't fall below base clock under 100% load, then all...

Not obtaining audio CD metadata (.MP3 Tags) from freedb.org

IIRC, music brainz did have a freedb compatible API endpoint, but it was discontinued about a year ago instead favouring native client support. Best just to try a new ripper with musicbrainz support. (Something that I need to look into myself as the ripper I use (asunder) only supports freedb).

Not obtaining audio CD metadata (.MP3 Tags) from freedb.org

IIRC, The main alternative to freedb is MusicBrainz. The Wikipedia page on musicbrainz has a number of clients that use it instead of freedb, so try one of those to see which one suits your needs best.

I agree 100%. I don't know what it's like in the US, but most companies here use what some may consider misleading warranty statements.
