The way you've described it, I don't know of any off the shelf routers that will do all that. A server that's built with 16ports and Wifi can certainly do it, with the correct DHCP and firewall service setup, but don't know of an off-the-shelf solution.

Agree 100%. But I was under the impression, that once write limits were reached, the drive would remain in read-only mode indefinitely and not brick themselves at some point in the future (and I suspect many users would expect the same sort of thing).

Thanks for the update. Interesting that the Intel and Kingston bricked themselves when write's started failing, so limited opportunity to get data off the drive when writes have been exhausted...
