Here is some marketing stuff about the AI. It's not clear if the ImagePerfect AI is a drive function or software. https://blog.seagate.com/business/new-skyhawk-ai-enables-video-serve-us-better/ Rebuilding an array 3x faster seems unlikely.

But it is not necessary. If a movie worth hundreds of millions is shot with a smaller senor, why do you need 24x36mm for a video conference? Even pro talent sometimes do demos on an iPhone for example. Who are you conferencing with, the C levels of $10B+ companies in a fancy boardroom, your...

My 2x32GB G.Skill are fine at 6000MGT using the EXPO with no tweaking. I don't know if it is possible to get 4 RAMs at 6000. I would not even try. That was over a year ago, so maybe today there is better RAM.

You have youth and time on your side. ;) There are minimal differences between single-threaded performance within an architecture compared to between generations. I could really use another 20%+ on a core. The RAM is really BS on the EXPO as Merc says. I'd opt for 128GB if it runs at the...

There are some tools in the https://www.storageforum.net/forum/forums/toolbox-reference-section.14/ to clean up. I generally make a clean image of the SSD onto a flash drive before booting into Windows and then uninstall all obnoxious Windows programs and apps. Especially remove any...

I only have use for non-C: drives and mostly for the FedRex, UPS, or luggages. If somebody steals I suppose they could use my programs or lift the license codes. I've not thought about it much, assuming that was more of a hassle than it is worth if I decided to apply the BitLockers on C...

    Need a Decent Phone

At this point it is all a bit ridiculous, but people can spend money how they like. I'd rather spend money on a CPU/computer than a stupid cellphone. I'll probably be forced to buy the high end, since the makers are eliminating the middle range for the states. But I'll wait until absolutely...

Users will notice when connecting the drive to a different computer and files are locked. :) I'm not interested in encrypting the C: partition as it contains no data. I'm also not interested in storing a secret encryption key somewhere. I just want to use a password that I can create for the...

I know you guys are always throwing technology at problems that can be solved in other ways, but I would be willing to bet that the AF will not be perfect for hours at a time nor will the background be completely blurred. I know several companies that require most people to use a dropout...

So you cannot use the BL without a MS account, even on Win 11 Pro? What if the BL volume was created with Win 10 Pro on a removable drive. I've been doing that for the backup drives in the luggage so that a random person does not get access. They are just personal files, not containing...

Do all that many people actually watch the little cellphone screen in 3D? My eyes would be bugging out. Actual usage must not be much impediment to Apple or they would change that system. I remember years ago that a benchmark could heat a CPU higher than any actual use other than e.g...

There are numerous geriatric party lenses for S*ny E since it is an open system. Unfortunately the severely computational lenses are here to stay with MILS from all camera brands since the corrections are shown in the EVF. They could not have gotten away with that much BS in the (D)SLR eras...

If this is for TEAMS or Zoom, etc., is there some reason you don't just use a dropout background? I use a fixed camera on a tripod well behind my monitor, set to a little longer than "normal" focal length. The camera you mentioned is OK for blogging if that is what you are doing. I don't...

I discovered that my A54 is in the Vivids mode. In the Naturals mode it looks all washed out like a wide gamut without the right profile. I also run it brighter than the 100-120 nits of the high-grade LCD desktop display so that it is visible in a wider range of lighting. The auto-exposure...

It seems there are some complaints about the S24+ yet there are probably some about any new model. The A55 announcement is imminent, but it is projected to be only a minor upgrade over the A54. A problem is that the "work" phone is the A53 and the A54 is the "personal" phone.

Which S*ny is that? I've never been able to get really good AF from EF lenses adapted to E mount using either the MetBones or the Simga adapter both with a whole bunch of different FW. I suppose it may be better with certain lenses than others, but the Canon EF 24-70s or 24-105 were not very...

    Non-Binary DDR5

All the ones I found online are 2^(n)+2^(n-1). I was looking for n=25 modules. I suppose the implication of non-binary is that in a reduced expression n is not a whole number. log(2)(1.5) or ln(1.5)/ln(2) would be added to the whole number n, i.e., 2^25.584963=48GB. Regardless, the non-binary...

I'd prefer Canon or S*ny for video, but not the still camera form factor. Most of the relatively slow-scan sensors suffer to one degree or another with AF issues, but the CPUs also matter. S*ny did something between the a7RIV and a7RV to make AF better than expected given the crappy slow...

What is so great about the Sonys? I'm in only for over $10K in and not so happy. The A1 was great good for it's day, but also due for replacement. I like the a7rV IQ, but it is only usable in mechanical shutter at 10FPS for even slowly moving subjects.
