Why are you using SMR drives, when the write performance and longevity are poor? I don't think any various software workarounds will make the array fast once the CMR buffers are full. I'm also not so fond of the SSD buffer for large files and single users. Get as much RAM as you can as that...

MS cannot even get the TEAMs to work right. One day we had like 35 people and the stupid system was down. It must have cost more than $50K in lost productivity and opportunity. I would not trust those MS bozos with a 50GB online OS/app VMs any day.

Thanks. I was advised to get the graphics card for workstation use since it contained 10 bits/color. (Of course I don't have the crystal balls so Virus was a not a consideration.) I don't want to open the computer again to figure out which model, but it is small with one fan and no power...

    Video Cards

I suppose the next question is whether the NVideo is still progressing R&D to make better cards or if that will be delayed. I don't like the idea of buying mid-2020 RTX technology in late 2021/early 2020 if it will soon be obsolete. What would you do on the Quattro?

    Checking TBW on WD Blue

I just got some WD/SnaZDsik Blue shipments in July. I was testing with the HDTuner and also data integrity tests in a Nexto. I think it wrote until full (3.7TB) and then a separate CFe copy/write to battery depletion at 1.7TB. Are you saying this is not accurate?

    Video Cards

What's the deal with video cards in 2021? Last year there was some crap about the Virus or the cryptolith miners, and now six months later there are very few for sale and prices are exhorbitant. I am using an archaic card in the 3950X that was from the old Win 7 system, and then the later...

I don't want any computer accounts. I suspect 10 will become 11 without it or they can just not update my PC, which would be fine. :D I always provide the home phone when a number is needed. However, only a few real people use it. I surely don't want another stupid password just to get into...

I accept needing Win 11 in 2025, but will a 12th generation Intel desktop CPU/chipset released in 2022 also require Windows 11? If I understand correctly I'd have to buy Windows 11 pro and reinstall on a laptop that was desiged for the 11 homer to use remotely and never with internet. I'm...

No, they are not ending sales. There will be no new cameras designed/introduced. Some cameras like the Nikon F6 were produced for more than a decade after digital cameras appeared. The big problem is the lack of new lens designs or inferior lens designs that don't replace the old ones. Some...

    Windows 11

IIRC all new CPUs after January 2017 (e.g., Intel 7 series) were crippled so that would not naturally work with anything but 10. Won't they do the same with 11? I don't see the relevance of MS Office or whatver is in 365 now, or is that a requirement to insatll the WINDOWS now?

    Mirrorless Cameras (MILC) and Lenses

I use the Sony CFe cards in the R5, but I suppose the R6 can more easily get by with SDxC UHS-II cards. I suggest that you think and plan more, and learn to shoot less. That will save time and you will obtain better results in the long run.
