The new drive is blue, but, it comes in a nice, steel case, vs. plastic. Doing the install now. Should be done in 6 minutes. Soon will know if it's the drive, or the interface, and chips... Drives cost 100 bucks, costs 10 bucks to ship back to China, but, that's with no confirmation or...

7 tells me I do get some REALLY insane file transfer speeds, like 800 MB/sec, copying from the X-25's to the other SSD, and, sometimes they start really high, with smaller files, and slowly slow down to 150 MB/sec.

Happens fast, too. My GF is going through it and it's killing her. She's only 44.

Just car experience. With anti-freeze the temperature on my water-goes up to 50%, very quickly. Likewise, as soon as the load is less, it drops to 20%, or less, quickly. Pure water, the temperature will rarely go past 40%, but, once it gets up there, it stays there, longer....

Ever considered mixing 50% anti-freeze 50% water? Anti-freeze is MUCH better at absorbing heat then water.

My seagate is one of the newer old 7200 rpm drives. It's around 50 MB/sec in the laptop, and, with a clean install is ok, but still not nearly as fast as the SSD. Right now, they are the only game in town, or China I should say, and, I better just stick with what I've got, and not make the USPS...

Watching the Celtics and Cavs. off the power supply, the computer is stepped down to 598mhz. It's STILL way quicker then with the 7200 rpm drive.

Got the KingSpec SSD Professional, PATA, thanks to Stinker's suggestion. Installed XP, on Panasonic CF-51 no problems. ATTO scores are really low, around 31 mb/sec, vs. 45 seconds for the 7200 rpm seagate it replaced. Boots to login in 21 seconds, vs about 35 seconds for clean install on 7200...
