Whenever the NIC with the cat 5 is enabled, the connection speed reverts to 10 mb/sec???

Shut the Beast off, and restarted, and was transfering files. Back to 10 MB/SEC? Disable the internet connected Realtek RT18168D/8111D PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC, and we are back to high speed file transfer on the other NIC. ?????

I ran 3 monitors, 21 and two 19 inch CRT's, using the Matrox 750. It did it, but, was so under powered the screen resolution was disappointing, in games only. Awesome for work clarity. Can the current screens display in billions of colors?

Sometimes the controller only wants to do one raid array per reboot. Try redoing the Raid array again, then reboot. Card isn't real clear on supporting Raid 6: "RAID level 0, 1, 1E, 3, 5, 6 (if RAID 6 engine supported) and JBOD"

The disks are old, seem to be failing as well. Component errors on installs, files missing, it's like the disks are breaking down, and the information is degrading. I've been trying a bunch of different DVD/CD readers, and on different machines. Will MSFT supply new disks for old OS?

I was looking at laptops and came across this system: Pretty amazing setup for the money. Heck, water cooling alone is about 500 dollars...

I paid 309 from Tigerdirect, for 2 30 gig drives, tax 9% and including shipping. The Vertex rebates are a pain, and are approaching scam level, so don't include them in the price. I have 4 of them, and I'm happy with their data transfer level, and, access time.

Next on my list. Just want to step away from it, and leave it alone for awhile...

I can't get XP Pro, or 2003 to install on my new box. I'm currently running 5 different mem tests, and, that's actually running 65-80 percent of the processors, with nearly 90% of the ram.

typing this from 2003 Server/VM. The connection works sometimes, and not others. Sometimes I get 4-10 mb/sec, sometimes 75 mb/sec. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. I can deal with that...

Been playing Quake 4 at Ultra High Settings. Can't load the video driver, and, it won't work with anti-aliasing turned on.

Try running ATTO on the drive. I don't think HD Tach knows what SSDs are...or how to rate them. Also, you should really notice the difference? It's not really about SDTR, but access time.

Figured with my rates it was going CAT5. Disconnected the cat5 cable during transfer, and this confirmed it. Checked my ip addresses, deleted the default gateway, and off to 30 mb/sec or so. Not sure what you mean by "and access the share via IP address. ???

How can you tell if the connection is working? I have a prior connection, allowing net access to the router, and, had a common file. File transfers have been between 20-70 mb/sec, so, I guess the connection is there, but is there a way to make sure the file is setup on that connection, or, that...

I work with one set going nearly 600 mb/sec, and, the other is the set just posted. The only really big difference is copying files, and a barely noticeable lag with the server, in most of my functions. I haven't tuned the 7 install on the server to get rid of the built in 'lags' that the MSFT...

Just benched the 3 Vertex Turbo "Brick" in the Xeon machine: Not bad for a 9550 through a PCI-X slot:

Throughput is 300 mb/sec? That would be enough. Often, however, I find it says SATA one, and, that would limit the Vertex Turbo's for instance, quite a bit...About 100 mb/sec lost.
