Check here and read section (g) at the bottom. The last time I got the 'full' package to fill out there were questions like 'how many bathrooms do you have' and 'do you have wall to wall carpeting'. The only questions required by the Constitution, How many people live here, how many are...

Are you sure it's the census people. The constitution says they are supposed to get a head count, not your personal finances. I had one of them show up at my door a few years ago wanting to know why I didn't fill out the 12 page (?) questionare. I told him that all they are supposed to be...

    Best movie you've seen

Watched "Green Lantern" the other night. It was okay. I used to read the comic books years ago. The plot was the same as some other movie I watched a while back; some large monster hurts the hero's girl friend while destroying the earth.

    Hydronic Underfloor Heating

The only floor heating I've seen recently was hot water pipes put against the bottom of the floor between the joist. Then they were covered with insulation. The water was heated by gas and circulated by a small pump. This would be easy to zone as all you need is a valve controlled buy a...

    Large-scale water cooling (heat transfer)

Add a little anti-freeze to the water. It increases the thermal transfer and helps mitigate evaporation. You could use a conveyor belt for the bricks.

I still have the Gillette double edge ajustable razor I bought in Jr High. I stopped using it when I recieved some fancy triple blade thing as a present. I'll be going back to the double edge as soon as I run out of the expensive triple blades.

Poll: How much data do you take care of?

Everything I have at home, including operating systems and their backups, would fit on a 750Gb hard drive. At work, 8-10GB per day. Some of the data is deleted after 1 year, some after 5 years, and some we have to keep for 35 years. We are looking to build a 20TB storage solution to hold 1...

In Pa. The car looks okay but I haven't had the time to really check it out. I think most of the damage will be scratches. The tree is still on the garage. PFC/APFC power supplies need pure sine wave UPSs

I just skimmed through the APC forums. Seems it's a power supply problem, not the UPS. One poster mention replacing his Dell power supply with a Corsair and his system is fine. Timing of building a new system

Make sure the XP disk is disconnected before installing Win 7. There are subtle differences in NTFS of Win7 and some dual boot setups don't work. Win7 sees the XP partition and makes changes to the NTFS file system and XP won't boot. I sure hope you keep your job.
