For what it's worth, my new system plays my sound, and video unreal. NVIDIA. The same setup, on ATI 4670 sucks...

It appears the smaller the stripe, the better the HDTach results, and, the worse the ATTO results. System feels snappier with the 16k stripe. I'm going to assume the atto numbers have problems with the SSD's, or, at least the version I'm using. More after install...

I looked at the transfer rates below 64k, and they are really terrible. current ATTO results below: 4k was 25 mb/se 8 36mb/sec 16 64 mb/sec 32 was 95 mb/sec 64 was 106 mb/sec from there, 128 is 132 mb/sec 256 is 173 mb/sec

They are simply incredible, fantastic, etc.!!!!! and, don't forget Lisa Fischer....WOW Ronnie Woods is incredible. too....

It artifacts at the start, but, the majority os playing beautifully. Something isn't up to getting data fast enough from the bluray player. However, reading from a drive, on the bus, virtual drive, it's awesome... You can really see Mick's wrinkles.

Facts: Plextor drive artifacts when connected to my Supermicro motherboard, on playing, and on writing with AnyDVD HD to the hard drive. In other words, what is coming out of the DVD player, into the computer, is corrupted, even when it's NOT playing on the screen. The corrupted ISO's play just...

HMMMM. Defrag is not an issue, since the drives are two Vertex Turbos, 30 gigs, in Raid 0, for about 59 gigs of boot drive. Reads are about 200 mb/sec. Others have been getting faster results... It's kind of too late, since it's already done...

Has anyone any information on changing block sizes, and how that might affect performance? I wonder if I screwed the pooch by using 64k as the block size in the raid array...

When do you ever use 12 gig of RAM? Ram disk for page file? Scratch disk for Photoshop????? How much ram does 7 use?

I really don't think about processor upgrades. I've yet to find one that I thought was worth the money. If I've kept a system long enough to consider a processor upgrade, usually another part of the computer requires improving. Video slots in particular seem to put out to pasture motherboards...

Just ran it on the Athlon 3200_ Gigabyte, velociraptor, 9600. Now I have to go in the other room and compare them on my dual screens;-)

I was just thinking only one of the drives might be faster on the raid card. However, 30 gigs is what my OS and program installs run. I need the 60 gigs for space.

HMMMM That was run on the Vertex Turbo Raid 0, on the 9550 card. Here is the ATTO result: Something is bottle necking the drives, or, maybe that's as fast as the card can run the two drives. I do have two more I was thinking about adding, but, that would mean an entire system reinstall...

That's the OS raid 0, right? I've found the numbers go about in half with ATTO when you actually put something on the array, like an OS and work. Still, not changing my mind. David, what do you format your raid 0 arrays with, block size? That's why I start at 64, by the way...

HMMM. 1500 dollars for the 5570 is a bit rich for my blood. My monitor is a Samsung 21.5" next to a Vizio 37" XVT. Seasonics generally should work. I think this one is 500-600. Don't remember. Also the Supermicro boards only support one i7 cpu, at least the ones I'm looking at. Two of those...
