I don't build AMD systems because I don't trust the motherboards. Supermicro makes AMD motherboards, which I would trust, but they are pricey

I'm using Win 7 Pro at work. It's much better than Vista. I purchase the OEM version for $155.00. I'd recommend it.

I thought Native Command Queuing was supposed to allow OSs to call for more than one thread at a time. NCQ has been around for 5+ years. I would have thought newer OSs and service packs would have caught up by now.

Maybe these would help. Both under the compresser and the outdoor unit. I wouldn't wrap the compresser; I'd be affraid it would overheat. Maybe make a cage of sound absorbing material that leaves an air space around the compresser.

If you go with the motherboard with the SATA sockets pointing out the side, install the cables before you install the motherboard. They can be a bitch to plug cables into once it has been installed.

The first link would be for a non load bearing wall. The second link with the plywood for a load bearing wall.

Partition Wizard is free and has a hard drive wipe app. I did a 1TB drive in ~2Hrs.

I don't think I would worry to much about adding drives in the future. As drive sizes keep increasing, you will need less, not more. Seagate has a 3TB now.

How does the induction stove compare to a standard electric stove, energy wise?

If my memory is working correctly, side by side refrigerators are the least efficient. And a real pain to get things in and out of.

There are other colours available other than black or white. Freinds bought a new frige/stove/dishwasher in white. They took them to a body shop and had them custom painted to match the colours in the kitchen. I don't remember it being expensive.

Thanks DD! I have been using a lot of the Minuete cases that have a proprietary power supply. These power supplies don't seem to be very reliable (especially the 250W and 300W units) which means I have to keep 'special' spares on hand. I'd much rather use a case that takes a 'standard' power...

Thanks! While searching for some software, I came across The Dude and Look at Host. Interesting network utilities.

Our Gbit network has a bottle neck in it some where. I have down loaded and tried various utlities, but none will pin point the bottle neck. I'm looking for a utility that will show each hop and what speed the device is running at. Any ideas? Thanks

You also need to check the BIOS. Some of the power saving features can be disabled in the BIOS.

Welcome to Storage Forum! This would be a guess, but, OS X is a sudo linux build based on BSD if I remember correctly. If you already have the cards plug them in and see what happens. :D
