This is after the fact but; Win XP SP2 made a lot of changes to the firewall. Posibly just re-installing the SP would have fixed the problem. Bozo :mrgrn:

Just ran into a situation with a Dell server. Four of these s**t boxes were brought in by an equipment manufacturer. We need to have one of the boxes' video/keyboard/mouse sent by a KVM Extender to a remote location. Problem? There is only DVI out on the video card. No analog out. The venders...

He left out some remarkable screwups in Vista. Repair for one. In XP Pro and Win2K you could boot from the CD, and after agreeing to EULA, do a repair of the OS without hosing your programs and settings. That option in gone in Vista. The only repair option now is System Restore. It can be run...

Right click on the folder that has the DI files in them. Select 'Sharing and Security'. Go to the security tab. Select the full control check box for the proper user. Then click the 'Advanced' button. Check the box that says to make all the files under that folder the same as far as sharing and...

I have been installing these MSI/ATI cards. They even work on Vista 64 bit. Have not used them in gaming though. Mostly used on computers that are showing manufacturing process's in real time (moving charts and graphs) Excellant picture quality for this use. None have failed in about a year of...
