Hmmm. I enjoy reading these posts. Problem is I don't even have a car. I used to own a vehicle before, between 1990 and 1995. I don't have a picture of it but here's a link to what it somehow looks like. http://www.thingsasian.com/goto_article/article.2348.html There's another site but the pix...

nye! It's 2006. How come these things still happen? I'll install it right now and see what it does to this system.

    IT & Not for Profits

fully concur. but wait, how hard is it to chuck half of the equipment into the dumpster? hah just kidding. In our country, we have a lot of the same thing going on. old old printers with clogged nozzles. old slot 1 machines just begging to be upgraded/trashed. huh, just realized I'm...

    Gigabyte goes down the tubes

Sayang ("what a waste" or "it's a pity" in Tagalog) I hoped any offense, unintentional or even intentional could be talked over and resolved. I've just unhappily realized some of us could be together for a long time, sharing a lot of things we enjoy and still not be friends. But for the...

    Noise Machinos

Well, the machine you linked to generates sounds which are supposed to relax a person into sleep or rest. As to it "overpowering" the ordinary ambient noises in your neighborhood. It will be a matter or noise against noise, which may or may not be good, as decibel levels just "add up" I have...

We always have regular. Decaf never caught on in this country. Yup, I think that getting me warm inside is what does the trick. It also helps that I am a regular coffee drinker and have built up my tolerance to caffeine.

    Daed Man switch

This is the third time I gone to the thread and read it through. Sadly this is the first time I've actually understood it. And it is "really" easy to interpret the intent as "anticipating a death which may be 'predicted'". If I remember correctly, there has been previous concern for Eric's...

LG 4163B DVD burner does not read what it burns

Hello, Our office 160gb Seagate HDD is failing and I have tried backing up our data to DVDs. Problem is, even after "Burn Successful" and Data Verification Successful" messages in Nero, the same burner will not see the disk it has burned. 5 discs already. I brought the disks home and fed them...

    Socket A upgrade advice please

Hahaha, I offered him my processor, a seagate 6.4 hard disk drive and a 128mb SDRAM module. He has said yes. We're in the process of negotiating a meeting place and time.

    Socket A upgrade advice please

I'll be holding on for a year, on this motherboard. At least I think that's about as long a time I'll need to scrounge up the moolah (do people still use this term for money?) to for a "modern" processor. They say an X2 3800 will be very cheap. I wonder if it will still be around in a year's...

    Socket A upgrade advice please

I am using a Socket A Sempron 2400+ on a Gigabyte KT600 mobo with 512mb DDR-SDRAM There's a Barton 2600+ on sale and the owner says he'll accept my Sempron if I'll add P1,000 (that's around USD19). Shall I bite? I'm thinking of asking him to go down to P800. The only CPU intensive thing I do...

    Gigabyte advanced RMA not available?

I have a 2year old system on an AsRock board (TBred 2000+) which is trouble free. Have not reformatted the machine since I set it up. And lots of kids here (my local tech forum) have bought S939 NF4 AsRocks because of price/performance. Yep, they feel very flimsy. Bottom line, they're very...

I use AVG free edition myself and install it or recommend it to all my friends/clients. Easy to use and have had no complaints at all. Glad to know it's not on the list of "test-against" software.

Is it possible to buy MS Powerpoint separately?

$200? for separate Office components? ok, open office it is. We can buy the Office Pro Suite for $270 here. If the Students Edition has Powerpoint, I'll ask a friend to buy it from there.

    World Cup 2006, June 9 - July 9

Chess??? Actually the game (World Cup Football) itself is exciting only at times. That is, when an attack is underway. But most attacks end very quickly. Some sort of interruptus. And everyone knows that's annoying. The part of the coverage I can really enjoy is when they replay the goals in...

I still can't get over the habit of erasing my drive when I get the feeling it's acting up. And sometimes it's just acting up in my imagination. maybe every 5 months. Well, it's better now. In the old days (w98) it was something like 5X in 2 days.

The weather is completly f*cked up!

I could be wrong but... I don't think so. The government is a bit strict morality wise so I suppose Bangkok/Manila style discos with girls prancing up and down in ultra-skimpy attire would be frowned upon. Still, there's night-life. That place was where I first saw two good-looking china...

    Turning video 90 degrees

yep. as to the encoding used by the digicam, I seriously doubt it would be in MJPEG as this format uses a lot of space. MPG4 would probably be it. I suppose a quick check of the camera manual would be required.

ok, tried rotating a clip here. tried it at default settings (as VirtualDub is presented) the only changes I made were in the video menu > filters > rotate. you are right, the frame rate will seem slow. I've found out the problem. VirtualDub won't allow you to rotate unless you are in "Full...
