I run HFM.net to see the PPD per slot and it changes colors if there is a problem with a slot and you get used to what each slot normally generates so you can see if something is low, I also keep track of failed WU's with it. It also tends to be more accurate/consistent than Advanced Control...

Use the systray folding-icon to load the Advanced-Control (used to be called FAHControl). From there, click configure and go to the slots tab. double-click on the CPU slot and adjust the number of threads/cores from -1 (auto) to 6 and save.

It probably is my specific brand of KVM but I've used other USB to PS/2 adapters before and found that unplugging the USB port without powering down the computer destroys the PS/2 port on my KVM. After several dead KVM's I stopped using the adapters. While I might learn slow, I do learn.

It really does sound like the earlier Sandforce drive problems. I'd check to see if there is a firmware upgrade for your specific drive.

There is something wrong on that GTX 580 for they take about 9-11 hours on my GTX 460's. Even still they are poor PPD producers for me.

There is a new beta GPU project P7661. It is using a brand new core (The part of folding that actually does the work) called Core_17. With this new project, Stanford is again giving quick return bonus (QRB) points in addition to the base points. Remember the p8057's that gave such good PPD...

QRB has been re-instituted for client-type beta. A new GPU core_17 that works much better for AMD cards than Nvidia.

I do not know if I'll get to keep those points. They were never supposed to be given out and they have paused the entire testing server until they figure out what happened.

I'm actually surprised I got anything! I'm pleasantly pleased. The only thing anyone ever said was 0 points for any these internal WU's. Even still, the amount given is but a fraction of what I would have gotten normally.

I know it is big a kludge, but what about using a KVM with USB that will either directly run wirelessly or through Ethernet and thereby you can make it go wirelessly.

I'll be adding a GTX 580 to replace a GTX460 that died. I got it off Ebay for $200 (which I think is a reasonable price) so it will be a week before it gets here. Who knows if it will still work but we all take our chances and this one is mine.
