    IPv6

I have no problem with the theory of IPv6 (It is really quite elegant) nor its need. So far, I only have a practical complaint: Manually needing to type in multiple really long hex addresses. The only issue I have is typing given addresses accurately. The :: shortcut only works if there are...

I really dislike having to type all the hex digits needed to assign a static ipv6 address. I see no good way of solving that issue.

Windows FAHCore_17 GPU beta testing is back. If you are using AMD or Kepler video cards the PPD has significantly improved unfortunately Fermi not so much. With FAHCore_17 Nvidia uses a full CPU core which will affect SMP PPD but AMD uses virtually no CPU. They have also started beta testing...

It appears that Comcast (in my region) has now implemented IPV6 locally. With the recent increase in speed that Comcast is busy advertising, my cable modem changed from IPV4 only to IPV6 only. My router now seems to be getting both an IPV6 address and an IPV4 address from my cable modem. I've...

I'm pretty sure, that shortly when better OpenCL drivers come out you will be able maintain 500K+ PPD with 4x Titans on a single machine while just GPU-only folding on core_17. When the 5.1 core_17 version comes out it should be close to 1M PPD. Better have a really good PS for that machine...

I run HFM.net to see the PPD per slot and it changes colors if there is a problem with a slot and you get used to what each slot normally generates so you can see if something is low, I also keep track of failed WU's with it. It also tends to be more accurate/consistent than Advanced Control...

There's something wrong. I looked at others, and am seeing much smaller TPF's on weaker CPU's. Try adjusting the number of cores to 6. It shouldn't do much harm and it may do great good. What you are losing would be two virtual cores that do not have FP units and are not very productive for...

It probably is my specific brand of KVM but I've used other USB to PS/2 adapters before and found that unplugging the USB port without powering down the computer destroys the PS/2 port on my KVM. After several dead KVM's I stopped using the adapters. While I might learn slow, I do learn.

I looked at the spec sheet and it appears to be correct. That number is repeated several times and they even do an endurance calculation with it saying that that produces 40GB/day for 5 years. However, my calc. of 40GBx365x5 produces 73PB. PetaBytes endurance is a much more normal number for...
