GeForce 3 Ti 200: NOT a bad performer!

ASUS is not a generic brand... are you serious? And it was almost 20% more expensive than the rest of brands (ie. Creative, etc.) present at my retailer.

GeForce 3 Ti 200: NOT a bad performer!

hehe... the nVIDIOTS were preaching their G4 Ti was twice as fast as the previous generation. Of course, this benchmark tests the raw computation power of the graphics chip and not the advanced features (such as the AccuView Anti-Aliasing) found only in the G4 Ti... However I don't care... at...

GeForce 3 Ti 200: NOT a bad performer!

I was expecting a larger gap... Instead this card (well, from ASUS which is well-known for its quality materials) performs less than a third worse than the next-generation flagship GeForce4 Ti 4600... Paid it €280. Haven't even overclocked it yet! Neither the AGP.

What if I ran G@h together with UD? (I run UD as a screensaver) Would they [ideal] share 50-50% the CPU workload?

    Strange 5.1 Audio issue... :-/

Thank you both. Actually now everything works to my liking. Believe me, I played yesterday Operation Flashpoint which is encoded in 5.1 and I was totally amazed! Sol, I'll try the CMSS setting, if I find it... The problem is I haven't installed much of anything Creative-related... Their...

    Strange 5.1 Audio issue... :-/

Yes, that's right... Redirezione bassi is the Italian translation. It's activated for the LFEs and now the subwoofer works, even if it hurts me it doesn't have a volume on its own (as my old, always from Philips). What center on the right and woofer on the left are you talking about?! :eekers...

    Strange 5.1 Audio issue... :-/

OK, just installed my new Philips Multimedia Speaker System (MMS206)... I was a expecting a smooth installation and everything go but, as always happens, it wasn't that easy... The 5 speakers connect with the subwoofer which has input holes for the cable which connects to the sound card. The...

My first few hours with XP

Better speak about certain cases. I understand that many have problems with Windows XP, but the "Luna" interface is the last to blame. I'm an example of the opposite case: from the moment I passed to Windows XP I've never experienced hampering problems. My PC runs full-steam, I boot only once a...

My first few hours with XP

It's funny cause if there is one thing I really like about the new Windows XP, is the new (and much needed after 6 years of Windows 95-like desktops) GUI. But I guess that's because I'm a home user and don't need the extra speed/responsiveness of my desktop, right? BTW, PowerDVD XP 4 works fine...

My first few hours with XP

Since you're an experienced user, Mercutio, could you tell me if there are any real disadvantages using Windows XP, instead of Windows 2000? Ahh... the power of conservatism! But why, guys? This site hasn't any formal affiliation to the storage field. It would have had, but since SR is up and running we should find an alternative and more flexible name. We must be different. This way we seem like a SR spin-off. We're not!!

Guys, why are we sticking to this name? Afterall we're not talking only about Storage, neither SF's main purpose is to analyze storage related issues. PC Expertise Certifications... what's needed?

From what you've said, I think you can say that certifications are like the MCATs. If you don't have an active curriculum to support your results you don't get to the place you want.
