I only measured ~1000:1 contrast ratio after calibration with the Spyder3, which is quite a bit off from what TFT Central measured. However, with my new x-rite i1Display Pro it measures 2345.2:1 after calibration.
That's the stubby model. Mine is the longer one. I didn't have any issues updating the firmware, but I have only done it once. The firmware in the units I have can connect to a FTP server to save the footage so you don't need a NVR.
I only have the 3 Dahua models I purchased previously (mentioned earlier in the thread). They save their footage to a FTP server running on my 24/7 "server" in the basement.
My current job doesn't have much free time. My previous job did. I got in a lot of surfing (web) and planning of non work related projects. Like things I wanted to do in my spare time. Building speakers, home improvement projects, new PC builds, etc.
Do you have to keep busy / look busy or...
I received a refurbished BenQ GW2450 monitor this week. IMHO, for $118 shipped it's quite the monitor bargain. I wish it was 1920x1200 instead of 1920x1080, but the ~3000:1 contrast ratio is pretty nice compared to the 800:1 to 1000:1 panels in most monitors. No dead or stuck pixels either...
I'm not sure what monitors you're looking at, but most I've seen still have DVI. However, you can get DVI to HDMI adapters or cables since they are electrically compatible.

So I have a pair of headphones I really like. I thought they offered great performance for the price. They're a pair of AKG K540 headphones that I picked up from a seller on ebay around a year ago for just under $80 new in box. I was turned on to this model by a coworker who had a pair. I...
That hasn't happened for me. I've clean installed with upgrade media more than once without any issue. Activation worked too. One of the times I had to change a regkey first though.
The Blu-Ray for Oblivion includes a Dolby Digital True-HD 18bit 96kHz 5.1 isolated audio track on the disc of just the musical score by Joseph Trapanese and M83 (Anthony Gonzalez). It's quite fantastic. Time Magazine has a short write-up on the making of it.
Adhesive isn't going to work. You need something in there to force the printed flex cable to make contact with the metal fingers in the connector via pressure.
That isn't very well suited for rear projection per the description. I think you'd be better off with a rear projection screen and a motorized roll up front projection screen that comes down in front of it.
