Haswell Laptops 14" and smaller with at least FHD screens

Not sure. I saw a lot of complaining about the Yoga, but that may have been the predecessor and not the Pro 2. I don't know what timwhit's priorities are, but I have no interest in a touchscreen. I'd rather have a nice matte LCD. I also have some concerns about how Windows will handle the...

Haswell Laptops 14" and smaller with at least FHD screens

Yeah, not real inspiring. The Lenovo U430P should be closer to your objectives if you can accept the extra .7" of display.

As long as you like the low resolution screen, sure.

Pretty sad that the Apple hardware looks like the bargain. I think I have a problem with buying an expensive Apple product though.

It looks like there are a variety of premium ultrabooks from Sony, Toshiba, Acer, etc as well. Unfortunately they are almost all saddled with glossy touch screens on the front and sky high pricing.

Haswell Laptops 14" and smaller with at least FHD screens

What Haswell laptops are people buying these days? I've been perusing what's available in the market, and there's some interesting machines, but none seem exceptionally compelling. I've been looking on 14" or less system that offer 1920x1080 (or better) resolution non-TN screens. Lenovo...

The Zebralight looks okay. I don't have any experience with their lights. I do have a Nitecore EA8 cool white. Aside from the cold tint, my opinion is that the beam is a little too focused unless you're really trying to light up really distant objects outside. Indoors or for quasi close use...

Remember folks, don't buy crappy tint flashlights. In that vein, this (MT-G2) and this (6 x Nichia 219) should be nice additions to flashlight collections everywhere.

    TR's SSD endurance test

I wouldn't expect a busy database server to be continuously writing data to the drive as fast as possible, erasing it and starting over again 24/7 either.

    LED flashlights

FWIW, I wouldn't expect that flashlight to be anywhere near comparable to the PD35. I like the KeepPower protected 18650 cells that are built around a Panasonic 3400mAh 18650 cell. There are cheaper protected 18650 cells built around the same Panasonic 3400mAh cells, but they have more losses...

    TR's SSD endurance test

I don't mean to further muddy the waters, but their test is invalid anyhow. The faster you write data to the drive the less resting time the flash cells have between program and erase cycles. This will exaggerate the wear on the flash cells more than normal use would. Doing this right would...

    TR's SSD endurance test

The test is largely pointless. Those parameters don't mean anything. There is nothing that suggests a 50 "score" on a Samsung = a "50" score on a Corsair.

I'm not sure. I don't have any zebralights. I have a Coast headlamp I got cheap at Costco on clearance, and a Fenix headband that I can put two 2AA lights onto/into.

Sorry for not replying to this earlier... I have a two coworkers who bought some of the cheap Chinese made zooming lights. One bought an 18650 variant. The other a single AA. They're both happy with them. I've played with them a little. Personally, I probably wouldn't buy them, but I'm...

I wouldn't bet on that. I want to buy a new car

Oh cry me a river... 1) You can easily find ISA Ethernet cards on ebay. 2) Who is still using a 486 and trying to get online with it? 3) If you're really still using a 486, as timwhit points out, you can easily find a PC in the trash that would be a HUGE upgrade that has PCI (or better) slots.

They're a well known manufacturer. That doesn't mean the flashlights are good or are any more rugged than products from other companies. Their early LED flashlights had poor heatsinking compared to other LED flashlights. I don't know if the new ones are any better as I haven't bought any.

I don't really know about 1 and 2, but 3 is correct. They use a current limiting resistor, not a constant current drive circuit. If you're happy with the light it doesn't really matter.
