    Mirrorless Cameras (MILC) and Lenses

I can see EVF to an external monitor being better than DSLRs for studio work now. 100% crop to a large 4k color-correct display would be awesome. I've started to fly my drones the same way (video output to large screen) instead of goggles. Better on the eyes and easier to see details. Obviously...

    Mirrorless Cameras (MILC) and Lenses

I am shopping around for a mirrorless for timelapse. Would like it to have the Intervalometer built-in, have good dynamic range, support enough resolution for ~5k video (to motion crop to 4k), and be reasonably weather resistant. Just started looking, have another week before I need to buy.

SSDs - State of the Product?

The motherboard manufacturers clearly consider the heat thing a real issue; my new X299-Deluxe has a large heatsink just for the M.2 slot. I've attached heatsinks to them in other installs. And motherboards are available with at least 4 slots on them, with PCIe cards offering more slots if needed.

    Home NAS

When I ran a MikroTik router at home I modified it and added it to the water loop. Quiet enough at that point. Cutting a hole in the top and adding a 120mm fan would probably also make it quiet enough.

I want to buy a new car

The 2011 A3 is tuned way more than the Elantra; even in the more conservative current tune it does 300+ to the wheels (and doesn't detonate the manifold, which is nice). Still not emissions legal in CA, and that time is here. Model 3 deliveries are staggered based on the spec. The one they are...

Seriously considering buying a 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT Sport for my next car. 1.6L 201hp, 7-speed dual-clutch, Tech Package It is hard to find something with that power, adaptive cruise, and ventilated seats for under $30k. ------- My pre-order for a Tesla Model 3 is also up, but I've...

Google will now let you cache areas of the map to your device in advance, so it works without service. Still not as good as a dedicated device with updates maps when offline, but much better when online (traffic data, etc).

Which is the best Buy: Shielded and Unshielded Ethernet Cables?

In the US, anything "low voltage" (<24v? 48?) doesn't have that kind of issue. I used shielded, because going in after would be a PITA. Certainly paranoia, but I'd do it the same way again.

If it is a competitive match, you can ask for the rules to be a "Scramble". This means that after each team hits, the team chooses the shot they like best and everyone hits from there. Odds are you will be hitting from other people's positions a lot, so you won't be falling behind.

Mainly be careful of your back. If you are bad at golf you will be swinging about twice as much as someone who is good. Each swing will strain your lower back. Also, be wary of sun exposure, particularly if combined with alcohol consumption.

Intel X299: What is it good for?

General performance testing and tinkering. Run the stuff my clients usually run on systems and test a few installs just to be familiar. Then (hopefully) still sell them off at a premium due to availability shortages. But I usually end up keeping something.

Thank you Tony for making my camera situation seem just a bit more reasonable. I made my wife listen to me reading the entire post above (along with my annotation) and she seemed a bit grateful. With only 2 bodies and the largest lens I own being the 100-400II, I'm practically a minimalist.

I'm certainly not considering it. I don't feel that the potential upside is as large as it has been, and the uncertainty is still there. It seems like more cryptocurrencies came out before BTC was able to properly establish itself as a standard. To me this weakens the validity of the system...
