In case anyone was wondering, the production of 26 2.6Ghz Xeon cores (92k PPD) is less than half what a 4960X and Titan can do (219k PPD).

I have the battery grip, but don't use it that often. Most of the time I walk around with a 24/1.4 (quite small) and the battery pack adds considerably to the weight.

LG G4 32GB Black ordered through the company this afternoon. Probably Monday. I'm just leaving a huge Anker external battery pack connected constantly, this allows me to only swap to a freshly charged battery twice a day.

Thanks for all that Tannin. I'll give those tips a shot next time I'm out. And I do have the new version of the lens, with even better IS, making my situation even more silly.

No need to apologize, I should know the spec of my own equipment. I suspect much of the problem is that I don't shoot in full-daylight conditions much; magic-hour if I'm lucky, dusk otherwise.

I will if I have to again. The last time we moved was right after buying our first house, and there was no money to spare. Then again, my wife and I boxed in one day, moved in one day with the help of one friend, and unpacked in 3. It would be very different now.

The last effort to see is a factory reset. If that doesn't do the job then it is a hardware issue.

    Phone Dying

Just about killed my phone today (it is now discharging continuously, I suspect an internal short. Even with the phone off a new battery runs flat in a couple hours and the phone is always hot) I think I want the LG G4, but I'm tempted to make the safe decision with the Note 5. Will be buying...

Wow that is a big lens. Wouldn't work for me as I don't think I can handhold 500mm @ F5.6 at any reasonable ISO. 400@F4 is enough of a challenge.

A while ago I bought a TacX Bushido, along with the i-Bushido computer connectivity kit, and steering frame. I really like it; the geek elements (all the data, computer game aspect, etc) keep me distracted while I ride. Be sure to get a fan to blow on you and a mat for under your bike (you...

    problem Toshiba laptop's touchpad malfunction

Toshiba (or any laptop manufacturer) doesn't sell parts to laptops to regular customers. You'll be depending on 3rd party resellers, and may not be able to find the part at all. I have ~75% success finding parts for consumer-grade laptops and 95% for pro-grade stuff.

Axis Cameras: Video passthrough into P8221 I/O Live View?

I have a nice microphone hooked up to an Axis P8221 I/O box and an Axis M3007 camera. The camera works fine, and the mic covers audio perfectly. The P8221 supports adding the credentials of the camera so that you can get an integrated A/V Live View feed, but I can't get the video to appear...

Help - bad Perc or bad cables?!

Merc nailed it. Label everything, start rotating the cables around the drives. If the same drives keep failing it is the drives. Then start rotating the cables on the ports, if the same ports keep failing it is the card. Otherwise it might be the cables.

    1. Nope. If you can't see anything in the live view you are SOL. You could point at the moon and AF there before turning AF off, but that might be more work for less optimal result. 2. A 4-sec exposure @ 16mm is fine and should give a less noisy result. For me, astrophotography exposure times...

This isn't just about a hardware solution to this single problem.
