Our ICQ numbers... let's contact! :)

To be precise, my father is British, my mother is Greek. I only have a British passport though, so I'm considered 100% British. And, for the record, I hate Greece (except for the food and beaches) and quite a large portion of the Greek population (I think Prof. is with me on this).

My thoughts on the Zalman Flower

I finally ended up with a very quiet AMD machine. At last! I used to use an Alpha 8045 on my XP1800 and, with the Papst 8412NG, ended up with a lot of noise and temperatures in the 60C range under full load. I was running the chip at 1667MHz, 1.8v. It would certainly do 1800MHz but I didn't...

OK OK, I was bored, you got me :bravo: For whoever didn't understand my true identity, its energy. True - what he says and how he says it are what make this guy funny.

Come on - I have done 200 movies, you must know by now this is not true. Siffredino would never do such a thing. My friend and co producer John Stagliano can verify this.

Unfortunately it is difficult to portray my talents in a book. It seems I am not well know "down under". Perhaps I should make a new movie "Rocco ravishes Melbourne". Maybe you can help me get in touch with Holly Valance? I would very much like to film something with her.

Pure Computer Experience according to Mercutio. :-p

<italian accent> My friend Professor, without Windows XP and new technology a lot of my movies would not be a reality, and a lot of people would not get the pleasure they do by watching them </italian accent>

On the (admittedly few) MAG's I've seen the controls weren't anything special - good but nothing that the traditional Sony's cross layout doesn't do. Perhaps you're talking of a different one but then again, I don't think it can be any simpler than those on the Sony monitors. I've got a 3 year...

    Opinions about OpenOffice 1.0.0?

I just got hold of ThinkFree office. I haven't really used it but at first sight I think (unless it has any major shortcomings) I'll be using this instead of office from now on. Small (I think its around 80mb), compatible (loads and saves) MS office documents, and looks a lot like office. You...

Damnit! Cliptin has overtaken  OK, I'm switching on the P3 again (had it off due to lack of network cable and couldn't be bothered to move my keyboard/video/mouse to it since I only have one of each so as to run off network)

I'll run it on a D740X 40Gb and a 'Cuda IV 80Gb in quiet mode... at some point! I also have a 10Gb Fireball AS but thats in the E-PC and it doesnt have a floppy drive and its NTFS so I cant do anything other than writing a bootable CD containing the files which I've no idea how to do....

True... I agree with you on that. I'm not for hitting people without cause either, but when someone asks for it, they should get it, be it man or woman... For starters, if someone gets on my nerves so much I want to hit them, I'm not going to stop and think if its a man or a woman, even if I...

Seriously? STR is littered with PNG graphics. Which isn't bad as long as Eugene stops using them for the hard drive photos which don't need to be of such high quality.

James, funny you should mention that. I had a 1.5 WEEK outage, just got my DSL online today. I'm gonna hunt them down for a refund. HSF to fit in a micro atx case

I forgot about the original question - if it still applies. You can get a Molex radial fin cooler from www.quietpc.com. They're very quiet and, from memory, around 3cm tall.

    Simple recording setup

Ah I forgot. In the attic I have some of my father's old JBL 4311 monitors. I like them more than the Missions but I think they sound worse in smaller rooms like mine.
  41. N

    Simple recording setup

I wasn't being snobbish. The speakers cost $100 new (Mission cost nothing here), as did the headphones, and the amp (Rotel RA921) around $120. Nothing snobbish here. Pretty cheapskate stuff actually but the headphones do produce a hell of a lot better sound than what 95% of computer users have...

    Simple recording setup

With a Creative card and a (relatively) cheap mic there shouldn't be any noticeable difference in quality of the sound of a hard drive even at low bitrates (128) Just do the capture to wav and send it over to me - I have some nice Mission 733 speakers and Sennheiser HD25SP headphones which I...

Timwhit, I notice you're running the GUI of seti, how come you're not using the CMD version? Its much faster and lets you use programs such as Seti Driver which lets you do all sorts of stuff like queueing units, user defined processes for SMP and such. If only something like this existed for...
