    IPv6

This is interesting, because I'm currently in the process of outgrowing the IP topology at work. Sites were only given a class C each, and that isn't enough thanks to BYOD and smartphones. Going to ip6 would make some sense, but if I get the addresses from my ISP, how does that work when I have...

Yup, saw that this morning. Shame my wife still thinks the S7 and A7 are ugly. And that they don't sell the S6 Avant in this country.

    Cycling

Both flats have occurred on field roads with heavy gravel on the side (trapping debris and allowing pointy things to hold nasty orientations). Actually, both happened on the same road within 5 miles of each other. Shame that is the main road between me and my favorite (closed) roads.

    IPv6

What is the argument for running ip6 in a non-routeable private network? Any reason I can't just support ip6 on my firewall and other connected devices forever?

    Cycling

This is only my second flat in 1500 miles of riding, so I don't consider it a deal-breaker. Just sucks when it does happen. I do carry a spare tube, but this tire was damaged enough by the time I got the metal out that the tube caused it to bulge. The tires I run (Gatorskin) are actually pretty...

Seconding all above. If an SSD helps an Atom-based machine (and it does), it could do some good there as well. And you could match the capacity for not much scratch.

    Best movie you've seen

I really like RDJ, and Iron Man is one of my favorite characters. I like those that made themselves vs. those that had something happen to them (Spiderman) or started out as gods (Thor). I suppose Batman would be the equivalent on the other side of the coin.

    4k TVs and Monitors

All my TVs ever do is display from a single output. I don't even need speakers. The only thing I care about is the quality of the video, but I don't think I'll be getting much there either at this price. Mainly it is a technical demo of what 4k is and can be used for.

    4k TVs and Monitors

The biggest market for 4k will be TVs first and monitors second (for quite a while, the cheapest way to get a ~2MP screen was to buy a 1080p TV). And as a TV, 50" is just about the minimum size anyone could appreciate 4k. As such, I doubt anyone will ramp up production of 4k displays much...

    4k TVs and Monitors

Several review sites (including the one I linked to above) bought and reviewed that exact TV. Apparently no gotcha, but everyone believes this is a limited time offer. If the "maybes" become "yes" I'll be ordering 5 of those by tomorrow.

SSDs - State of the Product?

All my users that I've been talking to about 4k screens today wanted 45-50" screens 2-3 feet away. The idea was not to see the whole thing at once, but to actually treat it as a desktop, with windows open all over the place.

    4k TVs and Monitors

This article led me to this one, and now I'm interested in something with a resolution higher than the 2560x1600 that I get with the 30" Dell monitors. However unlike JTR, I have no interest in paying for pixels that I don't see/can't appreciate. So I wouldn't want to go much below the 0.25mm...

SSDs - State of the Product?

Linux-based firewall that supports multiple WANs

I have their RB1100AHx2 as my home router at the moment, just for testing, and I think I may use them to replace all the smoothwalls I have out there. Considering I am not a router guru, the learning curve is steep. But it is certainly all there and a very high-quality package.

I've done some Smoothwalls lately. They don't seem to be doing much in development, but every issue I've had with them has been hardware related.
