    SuperMicro Blade Servers

I would be thinking exactly as you are. It is a great deal, so long as it is reliable enough. I would probably put in the budget at least one spare of everything, possibly an entire spare blade instead of just the parts. I would also do a couple of test calls to technical support; don't lie...

    IM Server for an office

We use Google for e-mail. This means that everyone already has a nice, clean, web-based IM client running all the time. You can even go direct to video conference if you like. And the transcript of an IM conversation gets e-mailed to the participants at the end.

I think I used the wrong word. These aren't definable programmable buttons, they just aren't physical buttons. They are on the sides of the home button and only perform their single task. They are off the screen so don't consume pixels. It seems the touch sensors for the screen extend beyond the...

    Some work on my A3

Played with some of the cleaning stuff. Washed my wife's car, and tried the clay on a couple panels (the actual clay, not the orbital skin thing). Amazing difference. Some discoloration (likely from bugs/bird droppings being on for a long time) are still visible. Will the polishing take care of...

    NAS

My backup NAS is at another location connected via VPN. I'm still looking for a simple "replicate efficiently" setting/program. It seems you either get: 1. Support for large file systems (10+ TB) 2. Efficient/smart network utilization 3. Ease of configuration If you look really hard, in...

I suspect the two ports are going to be tricky. Normally that involves some configuration on your switch as well. I was thinking of routing it directly to my main machine via two crossover cables and a dual port GbE Intel NIC, but the speed on the thing (250-300MB/s) doesn't really warrant that.

For polishing I went with the "Hyper System" from the same people that make Opti-Coat 2.0. Never done any of this before, in fact that was the first time I'd washed the car myself.

The Range Rover Evoque turns heads of non-car people. But as far as sedans go, there has been so much optimization through time with safety and efficiency standards that really there isn't much to do other than fiddly bits (headlights, grilles, bumpers).

Some of the shuttle machines would hold up fine to that Q6600 so long as you didn't also try to stick a gaming GPU in there. Specifically I'm thinking about the ones that use heatpipes to a radiator on the exhaust fan. If it doesn't require an optical drive it would be even better.
