jtr, how good/bad is the charger that comes with the Eneloops at Costco? I noticed that its charging rate is 300ma for AA. There is concern that the low current will not result in a reliable signal to stop charging, resulting in overcharging that is destructive to the cell. What says you?

Just got a new Latitude D531 from work. Nice machine, but heavy! I'm disappointed with the screen; a 15.4" widescreen. Viewing angle could have been better, and brightness more uniform across all parts of it. My Dell 20" widescreen at home is leap years ahead.

You should use it (feed power). Many motherboards require the additional power at this point. The manual for my DFI motherboard says if I don't plug this in, there will be stability problems.

IIRC, it doesn't matter what disc you put in the drive; the firmware is set to limit read speed.

I remember reading that some models/brands of drives have read speed limited to deter ripping. Third party (hacked) firmware usually gets around this limitation. You may want to check out CRFreaks.com.
