SSDs - State of the Product?

Yeah, I'm not into throwing that much money at this particular problem yet. I do have a good enough backup/failover strategy that it isn't really an issue.

SSDs - State of the Product?

No idea. That disk will now go into a high-end workstation and will likely never have an issue again. From Intel drives I expect more ;)

I have a bunch of member's actual addresses, as well as actual names, but I try to be non-specific and use handles where possible. No need to make that information too easy to find :batman:

I plug in all my devices at the nightstand every night. I don't even pay attention to charge. I know this isn't good for the batteries, but it isn't worth worrying about.

Meeting people on forums that live close to you is an interesting concept. I suspect I live closest to Silicon Valley of everyone here (60 miles from Google HQ, 70 from Xerox PARC's original HQ). And the closest member is probably Santilli (~140 miles?). In this digital home of geekdom, why...

It is currently listed as "pre-order" I suspect they will never be in stock. ;)

SSDs - State of the Product?

Have one coming now. I'll stick it in a DB VM and see how long it lasts. The last drive in that machine (480GB Corsair Force GT) kept disconnecting itself under really high IO.

Some shopping site, I've lost it now. Those Forgestar wheels do look awesome, and have some technical cojones behind them, but they are hard to find at the larger outlets (tire rack, etc).

    The destruction of liberty

I suspect that the wealthiest individuals in each country either directly or indirectly run every country. The only exception would be some of the smaller useful nations (tax code, labor practices, natural resources, extradition treaties) that are "run" by the wealthiest people in the world. The...

My father (a programmer) just got a Das Keyboard Pro S (with lettering, quiet) and is marginally happy with it. It is still noisier than he likes, but you can't help that with a buckling spring keyboard. He also says that the transfer rates from the built-in USB hub suck.

It will only take 1080P input anyway. The additional pixels are just up-sampled via the internal video processor. The main advantage is on larger screens where the visibility of pixels was an issue (this one is about 30' wide)

They are a big step up in cost at least. Once you have a touch screen remote, a couple candy-bar remotes, one in-wall panel, and the IR repeater stuff in back, you are nearing 6-figures.
