If the electricity is going into your head, I don't think that encouraging it to pass through your body by grounding you/your chair is the right direction to go.

    iPhone syndrome

I do agree that trying to compare directly to our labor isn't really possible, but as the show Merc referenced illustrates, there are many easy steps that could be taken with minimal additional cost that would make things much better. It seems that no one really cares, and that is an...

    The storageforum Audi S4 Thread

Interesting that they chose red to show the car, I feel that is the least appetizing color of the bunch. I don't like reds in general, and that one is verging on a pink/orange more fitting of a Lambo.

    iPhone syndrome

I heard bits of it. Nothing exceptionally surprising to me, just a bit depressing. Really, Apple has the mindshare and marketshare to do things right. Up the costs by 15%, tout the good working conditions, and get their customers to feel even better about themselves. I don't think anyone else...

The Bluetooth voice commands are a nice feature, but at least on my current phone/car it can't handle contacts by name. I can say "dial number" and the number or I can use the steering wheel "mode" switch and scroll through the contacts on the DIS.

Beautiful ride tonight. Would have been a lot better if I hadn't gotten lost in the abandoned military base barracks at the end; had to climb a chain-link fence while carrying my bike. Hooray for carbon fiber.

    Keyboards

Depending on which computer you are using, there are between 2 and 4 USB headers on the motherboard. Using these will add more without needing to resort to hubs and the like, these are native ports of the motherboard.

    When is crossover cable needed?

I remember way back in the day needing a crossover between my DSL modem and a router, (in addition to the NIC<->NIC mentioned) but that has been many years. SD is right on all counts. Anything with Gigabit has auto-MDX in the spec, most modern 100Mbit switches include auto-MDX as well.

Shame that won't protect you one bit. Once AMD is gone (and it looks like that will eventually happen), and Intel is the only player, one quick US law (or "understanding") and the one CPU manufacturer will include TPM in every CPU they ship. Now where are you?

    Android phones: Tips, tricks?

Using a phone is like talking to a passenger. You (and the person you are talking to) need to understand that driving takes priority. This is easier when they are sitting next to you due to the non-verbal queues, but possible with a phone as well. If getting into a tricky situation (traffic...

    Android phones: Tips, tricks?

The solution I settled on is to have a charger at home (next to the bed and next to the computer), at the office, and in the car. It would be better if my phone supported an induction charging system of some kind, but it works fine for me.

I do want to buy a used car

Yeah, they call that interior some form of brown. My wife calls is massacre red. 16k strikes me as very low for an '09 (my '09 has 65k) and the '09 A5 has the exact same look as the '11, so the value is pretty strong.

The manual. The last service for my car was @ 25k, and included a firmware update for the transmission that made it bite much harder. Still smooth if you are gentle with the throttle, but wide open it will chirp all four tires going into second.
