Mubs nailed it. Drive geometry problem. I just went through it with a motherboard change, I came across an ASUS P3V4X, so I changed out my BH6 and plonked in the ASUS. Attached drive etc, NTLDR missing! WTF. After much mucking about last night with a DOS/LINUX tools disk, the NT partition...

That the hateful/hurtful thing about IT, how quickly and how savagely prices come down. But I bought an X2 soon after the launch and the price did not move much until now, so I'm happy. If I'd bought an X2 in say the April~now time frame, I'd be hurtin'.

    Folding@Home

Yeah, I noticed it last night. You don't need to re-install, just start and stop the service (or program if you run from the command-line). I think the problem lay on the F@H server end. I was getting 502 errors returned (which is server too busy I think).

975X is the only current one I know of. Intel have a new P965 chipset (which is supposed to be the volume chipset of choice), but it appears they are having difficulty shipping it in volume (and looks to be the reason for the release date slippage).

Ramblings on the brands we love (or hate)

My Samsung 193T flat panel's front buttons (power, menu, brightness etc.) stopped working. Called Samsung and a rep came out and replaced the monitor with a 910T, no questions asked. Quick, painless, just the way I like it. Thank you Samsung, (and from another thread) thank you Antec.

Called the vendor I bought the case off, AusPCMarket in Sydney, and got the duck and weave—sorry, we only warrant the fan for six months. This is slime at it's worst and contrary to Australian law—if a product is warranted for 12 months by the manufacturer, you cannot (as a retailer) offer...

Bah. I shave at least once a day. If I'm planning on a night out (rare! Young children), I would need to shave a second time. Shaving commercials make me laugh. They show barely pubescent boys with no facial hair getting a "smooth, close" shave. If they had confidence in their product, the...
