Same deal here. I was playing with OpenSuSE 10.1 x64 last week and had a few issues configuring the X-server and a couple of other niggles. Plus it took forever, ran to three CD's, and some of the install messages were less than clear. Ubuntu just worked. Probably a little too simple, but...

I need some help installing Ubuntu. Downloaded Ubuntu 6.06.1. Popped CD (it appears to be only 1 CD right?) into drive, booted. HDD is a 10GB Quantum with XP on it. Ubuntu fired up and the first option was Start or Install. Selected that and after a few minutes, was presented with Gnome...

From what I've seen so far, DDR2-800 is just resonable DDR2-667 with slightly looser timings. Granted there is really low latency DDR2-800 out there as well, but you'll pay a motza for that. If you're running two banks (dual channel), then there isn't a lot to be gained as 2 x 533 = 1066 (the...

No. Though strangely enough, the Turion X2 uses a 631 pin package so I don't think that there is any reason apart from marketing that prevents (possibly electrical) AMD from releasing one. The reason I even mentioned S754 is more FYI for others that read this thread (lurkers in the main)...
